How it works
Lot size = risk amount ÷ (stop loss in pips × pip value per standard lot). If you enter a risk percentage, the risk amount is first computed as balance × (risk % ÷ 100).
The result is then expressed in lot units: standard lots, mini lots (×10) and micro lots (×100), so you can match your broker's minimum increment.
Example calculation
- Risk $50 · stop loss 20 pips · EURUSD · USD account.
- Pip value per standard lot = $10.
- Lots = 50 ÷ (20 × 10) = 0.25 standard lots = 2.5 mini = 25 micro.
Frequently asked
What is the difference between standard, mini and micro lots?
A standard lot is 100,000 units, a mini lot is 10,000 units (0.10) and a micro lot is 1,000 units (0.01). The tool shows your sized position in all three.
Can I enter a fixed risk amount instead of a percentage?
Yes. Choose 'risk amount' to size from a fixed cash figure, or 'risk %' to size from a percentage of your balance.
Is anything stored?
No. The calculator is free, needs no login, and processes your inputs only in your browser.
